The greatest love story that I know is also the best love story. There is no other love story that can compare. It is one I grew up watching. I always, from a young age, wanted a love like this. My grandparents, on my mothers side.
Growing up, we would visit family a lot. Once my parents divorced, my brother and I would get sent to MN for the summers to spend time with both sides of the family. 4 weeks with dad’s side and 4 with moms.
Dad’s side was more strict than mom’s. We either read or watched Everybody loves Raymond or Fraiser. We would go outside and play, but it was bedtime at 8 pm, 1 coke, or chocolate milk at dinner. If we were at my aunts, then we played with the daycare kids. It all depended whose house we were at.
Now, mom’s side was the best. We got to pick what VHS we wanted to watch, we talked, we played handheld yahtzee, and the best part we took turns going to work with them. Grandpa worked as a janitor at a high school close by, and Grandma worked at Casey’s. Both places were fun. With Grandma, we got to take phone orders for pizza and help make them. Grandpa, we got to help clean out lockers, paint, clean, and even play games on the computer. If we found something cool in the lockers that was not school property, we got to keep it…
