This man was known as the Yorkshire Ripper. He was a serial killer. I don’t find him very interesting. It took me like a week to actually get this written out.

Peter William Sutcliffe was born June 2, 1946, in Bingley, West Yorkshire, England. He grew up with 5 younger siblings. He has 2 brothers and 3 sisters. The family was a working-class Catholic family. As a teenager, he was said to be a loner with voyeuristic tendencies.

Peter left school at the age of 15, which was in 1961. He took on several different jobs, including at a factory and even a mill. Then, in 1964, he got a job as a grave digger. This job led to a part-time job at a local morgue. He would brag to his friends about robbing bodies at the morgue. Peter earned a reputation among his fellow graveyard workers for his morbid sense of humor on the job.

*Side note here, I would think that one would have to have a morbid sense of humor to work in a graveyars.

He then developed an obsession. He became obsessed with prostitutes. He began to consistently watch them conduct their business on the streets of the nearby city of Leeds. In 1967, he met a woman named Sonia Szurma. The two then married in 1974. One year later, he got his license as a heavy goods vehicle driver. One year after that, in 1976, he found a job as a truck driver. He became a trusted employee. He remained in that position during his killing spree.
