Mikhail Popkov
The Werewolf
Mikhail Popkov was born in Angarsk, Russia. It is said that his mother was an alcoholic who abused him during his childhood. Not much can be found about his childhood. Going off of the little information that is assumed, he had a horrible childhood, due to abused he endured from his mother. He was a police officer, and married a police officer as well in the 80s. They had 1 daughter together. His motives for killing are to be believed to be, hatred of prostitutes, misogyny, and sexual sadism. He was convicted of Aggravated murder (times 78) and attempted aggravated murder (times 2).
He started killing women because he thought his wife was cheating on him with another cop. He targeted women, who was believed to resemble his mom. His wife, provided alibis for him on several different occasions. From 1992 to what was thought to be 2000s he would pick up woman who were alone and drunk. He would pick them up while in his uniform and in his police car to gain their trust. He would get them in his car and drive to the forest where he would kill and rape them. His victims were either axed, stabbed, or strangled to death. One of them was decapitated, while another's heart was ripped from her chest.
