This man was completely weird. He had so many things that came out as weird. I’m not saying any serial killers are normal, but this man tried his hardest. He led a double life. For me, he was good at keeping his murder side a secret from his family life. Let learn a little about the man who is the BTK Killer.
Dennis Lynn Rader was born March 9, 1945, in Pittsburg, Kansas. He grew up in Wichita. He was the oldest of 4 sons. Which, being a boy mom myself, I don’t see how his mom did not go crazy. Dennis had what seemed like a normal childhood. The one thing that was not seen was his disturbing behavior as hanging stray animals. He masked that side of him. Which is smart because that’s a huge red flag. He joined the U.S. Air Force in the mid-60s, after he dropped out of college.
After he got out of the Air Force and returned to Wichita, he worked for an outdoor supply company for about a year. In 1974, he then started work as an employee with ADT Security Services. Now, that would be the perfect job for a serial killer because you install peoples security cameras, and then you have access to their homes.
In 1971, Dennis Rader married Paula Dietz. They had 2 children together, a son named Brain in 1975, and a daughter named Kerri in 1978. Side note here Kerri did write a book in 2019. I will list…
